The noise level for residential buildings and public spaces is regulated by SNiP (Order No. 463 dated September 22, 2019). The maximum permissible level during the day is up to 70 dB, and at night it is up to 30 dB. Sound intensity of 80 dB is highly irritating, while 100 dB is already considered hazardous to health. We encounter the following types of noise on a daily basis:
- Human speech: 40 dB
- Sound of cars near highways: 65-90 dB
- Equipment in industrial premises: 70-80 dB
- Noise from a train at a distance of 7 m: up to 100 dB
- Noise from a jet aircraft: up to 160 dB.
And if it’s not possible to reduce noise in places like factories, train stations, and runways, creating a comfortable acoustic environment inside buildings is still achievable. One way to lower sound pressure is to install windows with soundproofing and sound-insulating glass partitions within the premises.
Soundproof glass ArmiGlass

Our soundproof glass consists of two or three layers, bonded together by EVA film from Hornos Industriales Pujol. This elastic and lightweight material ensures a gradual attenuation of sound waves as they transition from the first to the last layer.
If a structure made of soundproof glass is complemented with glass of different thicknesses and various sizes of the spacer frame, it provides maximum protection against low-frequency noise within the room.
As for high-frequency noises, they are typically dampened by various types of seals: in the spaces between the window opening and the frame, within the frame itself, and between the double glazing and the frame. To enhance sound insulation, the air chamber is filled with inert gases such as argon and krypton.
Sound-absorbing glass: application
Depending on the type of building and the source of noise, we will calculate the required quantity and thickness of glass, as well as the number of chambers, to minimize the noise level.
For manufacturing, we can offer a choice of sliding soundproof partitions to increase workspace, set up meeting rooms, or offices.
For private houses and apartments located near busy streets, highways, train stations, sports, and playgrounds – multilayered double-glazed windows can be provided to ensure peaceful sleep and the ability to work in a quiet environment.
Soundproofing glass: additional properties
Soundproofing glass can be coated with a coating that contains silver. Thanks to its light specularity, it will protect the room from UV rays. This way you save on air conditioning, protect the interior from fading, and create privacy without thick curtains and roller blinds.
Thanks to polymer inserts and sandwiching with EVA film, soundproofing glass also retains heat in winter and is shockproof. The strength class varies by the number of layers of glass and polymer and their thickness.
At your request, we will make the glass fire-resistant, bulletproof, transparent in different shades, or matte.
